What we were working with
Constant salt spray had burned through two previous planting attempts, and the standard hardware on the old fencing and lighting was rusting out within a year.
What we built
We rebuilt with a plant palette that actually wants coastal exposure, specified corrosion-resistant hardware and finishes throughout, and used DG paths and a board-formed seat wall to give the yard structure without fighting the setting.
How it turned out
A relaxed cottage yard that looks better each season instead of needing to be replaced every other year.
