Common questions
- How long do pavers last in San Diego?
- Thirty years and up when the base is right. The paver itself almost never fails — settling and waviness trace back to inadequate base compaction or missing drainage.
- Pavers or stamped concrete?
- Pavers cost more up front, but they flex with soil movement instead of cracking, and a settled area can be lifted and reset. On expansive clay, that difference matters a great deal.
- Do pavers get weeds between them?
- Polymeric sand joints and a compacted base make it uncommon. What weeds do appear are surface-seeded and pull out easily, unlike weeds rooted through a cracked slab.
- Are you licensed for paver work in San Diego?
- Yes. Staples Landscaping holds California contractor license #1159370, carries liability and workers' compensation coverage, and pulls permits on any work that requires them. You can verify the license directly with the CSLB.
