What we were working with
A period cottage whose front garden had been simplified down to lawn and two shrubs over the years.
What we built
We put the garden back: a brick entry walk on the original alignment, framed beds either side, clipped hedging for structure and a flowering palette chosen to handle the island's salt exposure.
How it turned out
A front garden that belongs to the house's era and blooms most of the year.

Materials & methods
- Clay brick walk
- Boxwood hedging
- Salt-tolerant flowering perennials
- Amended garden soil
- Drip irrigation
