The goal
Keep the route to the recessed front doors visually clear while accommodating planting in the narrow space beside the house.
Design & construction approach
A lawn strip borders one side, while a mulched bed combines rounded shrubs, low foliage and a large architectural plant on the other.
The finished result
Contrasting plant heights and leaf shapes add depth without obscuring the photographed route to the doors.
