What we were working with
The clients wanted a garden, not a patio with plants around it — and the previous irrigation had every species on one valve.
What we built
We designed from the planting out: soil amended to what the palette needs, separate valves for succulents and thirstier shrubs, and irregular flagstone laid to wander through the beds rather than divide them.
How it turned out
A courtyard that feels grown rather than installed, with each plant on the right water schedule.
