What we were working with
A front slope shedding mulch onto the sidewalk after every rain, with irrigation that ran off before it soaked in.
What we built
We stabilized the face with erosion netting and a cobble swale at the toe, planted a succulent and aloe palette with real root structure, and converted the slope to low-flow drip that applies water slowly enough to absorb.
How it turned out
A slope that holds itself together and looks like a garden rather than a maintenance problem.
