- Scope
- Two terraces on a downslope lot
What we were working with
A downslope lot with a bay view that was only visible from inside the house — the yard dropped away too fast to use.
What we built
Two block terraces created level ground where there was none, and a view deck on the upper terrace put the seating at the elevation where the bay is actually visible. All planting in the corridor was capped low.
How it turned out
The view moved outdoors, and the yard gained two usable levels.

Materials & methods
- Engineered block walls
- Hardwood view deck
- Concrete stairs
- Low view-conscious planting
- Low-voltage lighting
