What we were working with
A small rear yard hemmed in by fences on three sides, doing nothing but holding a trash can and a patch of weeds.
What we built
We paved the usable footprint, tucked a corner seat wall in to free up floor space, planted vertically on the fences, and hung catenary string lighting off posts to give the space a ceiling.
How it turned out
A yard that seats six comfortably and feels like a room after dark.
